20 drunkards roaming on Boulevard arrested: Police | KNO

Srinagar, Oct 02 (KNO): At least 20 drunkards, who were roaming on Boulevard and creating nuisance in the area, were arrested on Sunday evening, police said here. In a statement, issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said that acting tough against social evils, Srinagar police nabbed a number of drunkards roaming on Boulevard in an inebriated condition. The statement reads that they were indulged in drunken brawls and creating nuisance in areas which are frequented by tourists, thus giving a bad name to the society. “In its drive against these nuisance mongers, Srinagar Police formed a team under the supervision of SP East Sahil Sarangal, assisted by SDPO Nehrupark Mansha Beig and DO Nehrupark Inspector Showkat Ali that conducted a surpise raid in the area.” It added that all the arrested persons have been booked under relevant sections of law and the public has appreciated the swift action taken by the police—(KNO)
